We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Contract Management Specialist to join DeAngelis Diamond. This role will primarily support construction transactions, manage subcontracts, and handle various legal and risk management functions to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
What you'll be doing:
- Contract Management: Review and assemble construction contracts, bid documents, and other related legal documents, including NDAs, and third-party vendor agreements. Maintain contract repository, monitor key contract deadlines, ensuring timely renewals, amendments, and notifications. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address contractual needs and execute contract obligations.
- Subcontract Management: Manage subcontracts and assist project management team in evaluating proposed revisions and negotiating terms and conditions, as required.
- Legal Research and Compliance: Conduct basic legal research on a variety of matters, including construction, corporate law, regulatory issues, and licensing. Ensure all legal, insurance, and bonding requirements are met prior to contract execution.
- Document Management: Ensure the proper management of documents, including organizing and managing electronic data sites, uploading documentation, and ensuring documents are properly stored. Investigates and responds to third-party and discovery requests.
- Administrative Support: Assit with the administration of matters including legal letters, outside counsel billing, and other administrative tasks. Check and proofread documents for quality, consistency, and content.
What you need for this position:
- Bachelor's Degree. Paralegal or Contract Management experience.
- Previous legal department or law firm experience, preferably prior experience with construction, insurance, or corporate law.
- Familiarity with AIA, DBIA, and other construction and design-build contracts.
- Insurance and construction claim experience preferred.
- Strong work ethic, commitment to detail, and effective personal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
- Team-oriented and collaborative.
- Initiative and willingness to learn and adapt to priorities and demand.
